The Axarquia Region of Malaga in Andalucia is on Spain’s Costa del Sol. The Axarquia is situated to the east of the city of Malaga. The coast of Axarquia stretches from Rincon de la Victoria on its western edge to Nerja on its eastern side with the resorts of Torre Del Mar, Algarrobo and Torrox Costa centrally located on the coast. Lake Vinuela is located in its centre overlooked by Mount Maroma, the highest mountain in the province of Malaga. The spectacular inland scenary of mountains, olive and orange groves is only surpassed by the stunning Lake Vinuela.

The Axarquia is approx 30 minutes from Malaga airport and 1 hour 20 minutes from Granada, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and its skiing resorts.
There are beautiful whitewashed villages such as Algarrobo, Frigiliana, Torrox, Comares, Colmenar, Periana. Canillas de Acietuno, Sayalonga, Alcaucin and Competa.

The Costa del Sol and in particular The Axarquia has many National Parks and is a haven for wildlife. Walking and cycling in the parks is very popular. There is also a marine National Park between Nerja and La Herradura which has beautiful bays and magnificent cliff faces, where scuba diving can be enjoyed due to the abundant marine life.

The climate is one of the best in Europe with sunshine throughout the summer and mild winters.
